Singer's remains taken from Courtney Love's home

Kurt Cobain's ashes have apparently been stolen.

According to the News Of The World, the Nirvana frontman's remains – the location of which has previously been kept secret – were taken from the Los Angeles home of his widow Courtney Love.

The ashes were said to have been kept in a "pink teddy bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair" and were taken with some jewellery and clothes.

Love is quoted by the paper as saying: "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."

Some of the Nirvana frontman's ashes were previously scattered near his home in Washington State and some at a New York Buddhist temple, with his widow retaining the rest.

She added: "They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again."

No, uh-uh, that's wrong, just completely plain wrong. I can't believe that someone has stolen Kurt Cobain, essentially, some sicko will probably try and sell him on the street or something. That is just disgusting.

Shows you just how sick some people are. Kurt was a legend, and stealing his ashes is crossing the line. Sick, sick people.

that's truly sick. if she commits suicide as a result i'd hold the burgler directly responsible and he should be tried for manslaughter.

With all due respect to Kurt and Courtney, I cant help wondering whether the Daily Mail will blame Courtney's suicide (if she does it) on My Chemical Romance..................

Just goes to show what some dick heads are in this world. Seriously what would anyone want with someone else's ashes?

Not for anything but what was Courtney doing with the ashes kept in such an unsafe place? I read several interviews given by Courtney in the past which she gave details in where Kurt's cremains were kept in her home. Why give such details about those type of things? I don't walk down the street telling people that I have a lot of money in my wallet, it's the same thing.I do wish whoever took the ashes would do the right thing and just return them to the family.

Courtney Love probably 'misplaced' his ashes while she was selling the rest of Kurt's belongings--the shit that should have gone to his daughter, not collectors.

knowing her....they probably got up and ran away on their own....'ah...sweet freedom!'

Apparently whoever stole them didn't realise that poor old Kurt was sitting in the backpack full of clothes. I know it's no one's fault but the burglar's but surely it's a little irresponsible to put your dearly departed in a rucksack in a cupboard!

If Kurt Cobain died already, and his exwife has medical problems that he avoided with suicide,it stands to reason that his material remains...money,child,music,personal affects...they get the treatment he avoided,by people whoare in denial about his right to choosedeath, and his refusal to accept thattreatment in his future. I think he's ingood spirits elsewhere.

Thats really fucked up that someone would steal his ashes. But all I can say is that he is finally gone from Coutney Love.So he's probably in a better place now. I hope so at least. And she definitely shouldn't have kept him in a backpack.

Lmfao! Are you people retarded? Kurt Cobain was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Wiskah River.Chances are, Courtney Love would be far from "suicidal" over that anyway.Jeez... you people are stupid.
