John Lydon says it 'might be true' that they are heading to the studio

Isle of Wight Festival 2008 headliners Sex Pistols have hinted that they are working on a new album.

Speaking to BBC 6Music, frontman John Lydon wouldn't give a definite answer about rumours that the band were set to head to the studio, but hinted that they were considering an album of new material.

"It's a nice rumour [that the band will record another album] and it might possibly be true we are attempting to," he said. "It's like all things Sex Pistols – it's riddled in chaos.

"You know, who knows what the future will hold? Maybe no future. So far I've proved that wrong. I've got a splendid future."

Have they realised that it wasn't actually the music that made them popular? Never Mind The... was an average punk album, it was what it stood for, rather than what it was. A new album would probably be shitty as well, especially since they're not really punks anymore, they're old men.

Yeah they're old men not 'punks' so that immediately disqualifies them from having a worthy opinion...perhaps we should burn all the Picasso paintings he painted in his twilight years...they're worthless really...

Pistols should of course record "You need hands", "Who killed Bambi", "Silly Thing", "Lonely Boy", "No one is innocent", "Something Else", "C'mon Everybody", "My Way", "Rock around the Clock", "The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle and "Friggin' in the Riggin" with ROTTEN on vocals. That would be the ultimate joke - to have ROTTEN on vocals on the McLaren stuff he has always hated.

I agree with Samramone. They just should NOT ruin their legacy! I don't think they should have done the whole comeback thing, but it would just be going too far to make another album. Leave it be! God.
